I wanted to acknowledge how much I appreciated Kevin's assistance in making the final arrangements for my late father, Wm. H. Cook, a former resident of Oyster Harbour in Ladysmith. As my Father's legal POA, I had set up & pre-paid for his final arrangements with a Funeral Home here in Ontario several years ago. I had hoped to that I might be able to move him back home to Muskoka, Ontario. but this did not come to pass. My long time life partner was listed as palliative (cancer) with limited time left. I had the "Notification of Expected Death in the Home" form on hand along with a DNR. I phoned Kevin who suggested filling out the on-line prearrangement form. It was filled out a few days before death and Kevin called me back and indicated that all is in place and we will deal with the paperwork afterwards (Very reassuring). When my spouse passed away at 04:00 I called Kevin at 04:30 to notify him as required by the form. I was asked compassionately how much time I needed. Then with a prearrangement phone call the "Transfer Service" came, 2 professionally dressed men in full suits (at 06:30) to respectfully deal with some minor paperwork and transfer the body of my loved one. This all happened on the start of the Labour Day weekend. On Tuesday Kevin phoned to make an appointment the next day at my home to do the final paperwork. He then returned on Friday and met with me at home to deliver the ashes and death certificate. Everything was done at my home (wow). The whole experience, although emotional for me, was handled above my expectations and with such caring and exceptional service, beyond my expectations. And the total price was just over $1700. Based on my own experience I would highly recommend Kevin and Evergreen Cremation Centre for anyone in their time of Grief needing a Funeral Director.

I just want to let you know how much I appreciated the Evergreen approach to making arrangements for our loved one. You personalized the your services by making a trip to meet us in our hotel room just after our loved one passed. You were sensitive to our feelings and gave just the right advice that we needed to make decisions at a most difficult time; and we were able to complete the contract right away and email other details as needed. We were relieved that you were able to hold our loved one until the cremation time according to his expressed wishes.

When you delivered the cremains at our appointed meeting time, everything was in perfect order. The cards you created for our Celebration of Life are superb and we’ll be very proud to hand those out to our guests. I must also commend you on your website. Our obituary was posted in a timely manner and will serve as a tribute for many years to come. The website itself is easy to navigate and attractive to look at. Sorry this sounds so much like an advertisement, but everything you did for us was so much appreciated that I have been recommending your services to others.

My family are a mess and my support people are my (our) brother and my (our) niece. They are holding it together for me. At some point they will melt down and I will be there for them.
We have an extended family but everyone else is a mess. Another situation to deal with.
You have been my rock so I didn't have to lean so much on them.
So I thank-you for that.

My dad passed away on Monday. Kevin at Evergreen Cremation Centre on Gatacre has gone above and beyond. He came into the nursing home and waited for us to approach him. He had left the stretcher in the car. Being a nurse myself, I've seen countless funeral directors come in and just go straight to the room, like it's just order of business. Kevin was compassionate, came in as a person first. We didn't feel pressured to say goodbye. We took our time. He answered every question with such empathy and clarity...in such an overwhelming situation, he was our beacon.
We went to Evergreen on Tuesday to handle some matters, and once again he was kind and sensitive but as per my request, was straight with me about our options, choices and the proceedings.
Although this was one of the most difficult week's of my life, Kevin added some ease. We would recommend him in a heart beat, and would use his services again if needed.

My husband & I decided to pre-plan our funeral.We didn't want to leave this decision making to our children under very difficult circumstances. Kevin was very knowledgeable & understanding of our needs & did not pressured us towards any unnecessary expenses. He answered all of our questions in a professional & courteous manner. When we called Kevin, my brother, Lyle, was not expected to live very long. Kevin met with myself and my brother, his wife and Lyle's partner within two hours at the hospital.
