Victor WILSON Obituary

Victor  Wilson

August 3, 1968 – December 19, 2025

Vic Wilson, of the Heiltsuk Nation, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 57. Though his early life was marked by hardship, Vic’s journey became one defined by resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Entering foster care at just eight months old, Vic learned early how to navigate life with determination and grit. By 15, he had essentially raised himself, shaping the independence and strength that guided him throughout his life. He grew up in central Nanaimo and later made his home in the Cowichan Valley with Dani where they raised their two beautiful boys and he began to build not just a life, but a lasting legacy.

Vic was a dedicated and hardworking man, owning and operating his own framing company. Known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and pride in a job well done, he faced every challenge head-on, always providing and building for those he loved.

Above all, Vic was a devoted father. His sons, Gus and Cash, were the center of his world. He was also a loving stepfather to Mason and Landon, embracing them fully as his own. Much of his passion for sports, especially baseball, came alive through fatherhood—coaching, cheering, and creating cherished memories with his children. Sports were more than a pastime; they were a way Vic connected, taught, and expressed his love.

In the later years of his life Vic found and treasured true happiness and love as a partner to Phelicia, sharing a deep bond that brought joy, support, and partnership into his life.

Vic’s friends and family remember him as loyal, generous, and full of laughter. He had a sharp sense of humor, an infectious presence, and a heart that drew people in. He would go to great lengths for those he cared about, always giving wholeheartedly.

He endured profound losses, including the passing of his mother in 2005 and his sister Beth in 2020, and his Uncle Jack in 2023 yet he continued to love fiercely and live fully, never allowing hardship to harden his heart.

Vic is survived by his sons, Gus and Cash; his step-sons Mason and Landon; his devoted partner, Phelicia; his sister Louise and nephew Liam; and his extended family, including Dani, the mother of his sons, Ingrid and Juan, who became like parents to him, as well as Dani’s brother Leif, his wife Whitney, and their children, Bowie and Finn and niece Hannah. Vic’s love, laughter, and presence have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Vic’s life was a testament to perseverance, love, and showing up—no matter how hard the road. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered.
