Shannon Louise COUTU

Shannon Louise Coutu Born February 9, 1947 died January 26, 2021 Shannon was one of 4 children of Benjamin Carr Green and Sheila Louise Green (nee Richardson), step father Louie Cappello. Shannon was born and raised in Port Alberni where she met and married Robert Quesnel in 1964. Shannon and Robert had two daughters Beverly and Jo-Anne. Shannon and Bob were divorced in 1974. Shannon met and married the love of her life Gerry Coutu in 1975. Gerry adopted the girls in 1977. Shannon and Gerry would have been happily married for 46 years on February 7, 2021. Shannon was known for her hospitality and generous heart Shannon would not hesitate to open her home to friends and family if they needed a place to stay for a day or a week or just drop by for a visit. She loved to cook, bake and have friends and family around to enjoy her goodies. Shannon loved her friends Vic,Sharon, Betty-Anne and Jack and appreciated the support they gave to her and Gerry over the last year and always looked forward to Saturday Nights when they would all get together in their “bubble”. Shannon dearly loved her husband Gerry, her girls and her grandson Raymond. Shannon was predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Sheila, her stepfather Louis and her older brother Alan. Shannon was survived by her loving husband Gerry Coutu, her daughters Beverly (Jim), Jo-Anne, her grandson Raymond, her step-grandson Brandon, her older brother Ron, her younger sister Shona (Gord) and her ex husband Robert (Bob) Quesnel (Beth) as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Jack, Betty-Anne, Gayle, the home support staff, ambulance crew, emergency doctors, nursers and the support staff at the Nanaimo General Hospital for their care.
