Robert ‘Bob’ Vanderwall sadly passed away September 30th at the age of 84 surrounded by family who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges but came out a hero and stayed strong until the very end.
Bob worked at Harmac as an electrician for several years and He was an active member of PPWC Union during his career serving as Vice President for a time. He enjoyed many years of canoe racing with Indigeneous Peoples. His passion for living aboard and his love of sailing on his sailboat, Hyades, came to fruition taking him on his year long venture and life’s dream travelling north to the Queen Charlottes and as far south as Mexico. Bob was also a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast continuing to ride well into his early 80's.
He was preceded by his son Jon, his parents and four siblings.
Bob is survived by his three children, Treen (Chris) Mac Coll, Bob Vanderwall, and Lisa Ripka, his six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and his sister Virginia Vanderwall.
He was a kind hearted and generous man to a fault and he will be deeply and sorely missed.
