Robert George Evans
July 15, 1957 - August 10, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce Rob’s passing after a brief battle with cancer. Rob was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Delphia Evans. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Yvette, son Kyle, and daughter Tatym. Also surviving him is his brother Raymond (Donna) and sister Laurel. Rob lived his entire 66 years in Nanaimo, and grew up on Haliburton Street where he made many lifelong friends. He worked at Hub City Paving for 37 years and took great pride in his work. He was most happy spending time with his family, whether that be at one of many camping trips or cheering at his children’s soccer games. When he was younger, he played tennis, softball and skied. In later years, he enjoyed golf and poker, and watching various sports on TV (go Canucks!). He had a passion for vehicles and real estate. Rob had an unbelievable memory for people and events. He was a very social person, but loved being at home more. Rob was always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. His mother and sister depended on him greatly for the past 25 years after his dad passed away. He retired in 2018 and enjoyed walking around Westwood Lake and going to Costco, where he would run into someone he knew almost every time. Robbie will be greatly missed and loved forever. Our hearts are broken. A celebration of his life will be held at Beban Social Centre on September 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to the Jean C. Barber Lodge - Canadian Cancer Society.
