Randall passed in the arms of his loving wife, Beverly in the morning of January 11th, after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.

He was a loving and generous man who always had a kind word or a helping hand for anyone in need, he gave freely of his time and knowledge and when he took on a project he gave it  his all. Randy’s passion growing up was baseball and this continued throughout his life, he also enjoyed coaching the little league teams. He loved history and when his step daughter Karleyse was accepted into the Rotary exchange program, he delighted in telling her about Amherst and was a wealth of knowledge.

He enjoyed speaking on the radio and spent a couple of years as CBC's early morning correspondent for Amherst. He also was very involved in the start up of the not for profit Tantramar Community Radio Station in Amherst.

Randy was a dedicated member of his community and worked in finance most of his adult life and his last position before his illness as Executive Director of CBDC in Amherst, NS was by far one of his favorites, he admired his staff and this position provided him the opportunity to help others in the community to start and run a successful businesses. Randy volunteered with many charitable organizations and served on many boards and committees (Family & Children’s Services, Rotary-Paul Harris Fellow, Easter Seals, United Way, VON, Chamber of Commerce, Cancer Society to name a few)  in various communities throughout his life.

He loved music and was always up to attending a concert, dancing at home to old records was his favorite and comedy shows delighted him especially when he laughed until tears ran down his face. He loved attending all of the local plays and thorougly enjoyed supporting all local events.

Predeceased by his father, Carl (2019), brother Gary (2000) and sister Sandra (1954)

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Beverly, Mother Agatha, Brother Dale (Loretta), Stepdaughter’s Karleyse and Samantha (Steve), Grandchildren Jalie, Seren and Maverick, Sons Blake and Bradley, Nephew Dane.  Special sister in law Carol, Scott, Justin, Maggie and Jennifer.

If you wish to honor his life it would be very appreciative if donations could be made in his name to VON Adult Day program in Amherst, NS or any caregiver program.

My sincerest and heartfelt thanks  to the wonderful people of the Amherst (Cumberland) Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group - founded by Jack Hilchey, sometimes you find your strength with the help of strangers who embrace you and lift you up in your time of need. I will never forget your kindness.

Randy told me every day that life is too precious to waste even one single second and that is how we lived our life.

Until we meet again my soul mate, best friend and my dearest love.
