Doug passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023 in Palliative Care at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Born in Digby, Nova Scotia in July 12, 1942, Doug is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Beulah, sons Patrick (Karna), Tony, and grandson Spencer, sister Bonnie, sister-in-law Kay, brothers-in-law Larry and Bruce (Carolyn) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Ralph, mother Leslie and sister Pam.
Doug served in the Canadian Armed Forces Army Corp of Engineers and worked as a Property Manager with Public Works Canada. Doug was an avid card player, fisherman, crabber, glass fuser and potter. He enjoyed riding his scooter around the neighbourhood and local trails visiting with all he met.
There will be no service by request. Donations can be made in Doug's memory to the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit.
