Patricia Margaret (HARRIS) KERR

 It is with great sadness we announce  the passing of Patricia Margaret Kerr ( Harris ), on September  25, 2020. She passed with her daughter Barbara  and her grandaughter  Amber-Lyn by her side, Patricia  was 76 years old.
   Born in Nanaimo, B.C. on February  1st 1944,  The first born of three. Born to John Harris and Sarah Ellen Harris.  Patricia moved around Canada  alot as a child.  Her father  John Harris was a military man.  He was posted in several different places. Patricia enjoyed living on different military  bases. She had several entertaining stories during those times.  She got married at the very young age of 17 to Robert Thomas Kerr, they had three children.  During their marriage they moved to Powell River for work. She lived there for 7 years  and made many friends.  Their marriage disolved and she moved back to Nanaimo in 1974.  She struggled as a single mom, she joined the Royal Canadian Legion branch #10.  She belonged to the ladies auxiliary for several years.   Patricia attended Malaspina College where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She was employed at Malaspina Lodge and ended her career at Nanaimo Regional Hospital in the rehab department. Patricia moved to Courtenay  B.C. to be closer to her son Michael and his family. She made several good friends there. Her health began to worsen, so she decided to move back to Nanaimo  4 years ago to be close to her daughter and family.  
Patricia is preceded  by her mother Sarah Ellen Harris, father John Harris and younger brother Douglas Harris. 
Patricia is survived by her 2 sons Robert Bruce Kerr ( Candace ), Michael John Douglas Kerr ( Kate Lok ), her daughter Barbara Ellen Porcher ( Michael  ).  Her grandchildren  Amber-Lyn Winder ( Paul ), Kalah Porcher ( Tony Brown ), Tiffany Cannon, Nick Johnson, Chris Johnson, David Lok, Arron Kerr and Kristina Stewart.  Her great grandchildren  Danica Winder, Zoe Winder, Johnathan Porcher, Tianna Brown, Josh, Nevaeh,  Quinn and Summer.
Patricia was a very strong and compassionate person, she touched many lives. She was always quick to help others, she will truly be missed by many.
