Ole MADSEN

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ole Madsen, born December 4, 1939 in Denmark. Ole passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021, age 81, with his daughters by his side.
Ole was the loving husband of Anna Marie Madsen, to whom he was married for 47 years, and caring father to Stine and Lene, his two daughters. Ole was also the proud grandfather ("Morfar") of Misha and Luca, who each take after him in different ways.
Ole immigrated from Denmark to Canada in 1967, eventually making his way to British Columbia, the province that became his home.  Apart from his family, Ole's joys included jazz music, non-fiction books, Galiano Island, wood-turning, and sweets.
We gratefully acknowledge the care provided by the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, including by the palliative care unit, in the final days of Ole's life.
