Neil C Heidelbach was born on Oct 24th, 1969, in Ladysmith BC, to parents Perry and Shirley Heidelbach. He was the youngest of three siblings, and leaves behind his brothers Michael and Eric, as well as his much loved nieces and nephews. In his younger years, he played football for the Calgary Stampeders. He eventually moved to Prince George where he met Tanya, his wife of 28 years. They were married in August 1997, and had two beautiful daughters, Kaitlin and Dezaray Heidelbach; Neil is also survived by his son, Colton, from a previous relationship. Neil spent many years working away from home on the oil rigs while raising his young family. He eventually relocated back to Ladysmith in 2009. After the loss of his eldest daughter in 2013, he decided to work closer to home and began a career at WFP in 2015.
Neil’s passions were riding his Harley, and spending time with his family and friends. Neil loved nothing more than making buddies wherever he went, and enjoyed sharing his elaborate stories while inspiring those around him. He could often be heard saying “take a picture or video of this” or “we got this.” He will be most remembered for his booming voice and laugh, and being so lovable. He had a great zest for life, and ability to remain positive during even the most challenging of circumstances. Neil fought a very brave fight in the last year and a half, but unfortunately lost his life at Cowichan Hospital on August 15th, 2025.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Transfer Beach amphitheatre on September 6th, 2025, from 1pm - 5pm. Light refreshments will be served. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair, an umbrella if rainy, and your motorcycle if you have one.
Ride free in Heaven, Neil, and let those pipes roar.
