Nancy SAUVAGEAU Obituary

Nancy Sauvageau, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed peacefully away on October 17th, surrounded by family who adore her.

Nancy was a pillar of love and strength for her family and community — an indomitable force of goodness. She has been described as a “rock” who was always there for her loved ones, no matter what life threw their way.  Her compassion and grace were unparalleled and never faltered.

Nancy leaves behind a legacy of laughter and compassion. She spent many years spreading her love of music while singing with her good friends in the “Over the Hill Gang” and over the years fostered a veritable menagerie of beloved cats, dogs, and goats. She also spent many years of devoted service in the Ladysmith chapter of the Eagles. Nancy went back to school and graduated as a licensed practical nurse in 1989. She started working at LGH as an LPN then became a nursing unit clerk. By the time she retired after 15 wonderful years there she was an admitting clerk. She had an infectious laugh that could often be heard throughout the hospital.

Her family and friends are richer for having known and loved, and been loved by, her. She had the biggest heart and the very best sense of humour.

Nancy’s surviving family include her beloved husband and soulmate Michel, her children Rob, Jim, Tracy, Denny, and Darcy and their respective spouses and partners Rona, Penny, Ed, and Rachel. She is survived and missed by grandchildren Rhea and her partner Kevin, Rylan and his wife Kelly, Nazneen and her husband Iain, Shania and her partner Aaron, Chantal and her partner Michael, Camillia (Mia) and her partner Justin, Olivia and her fiancé Joe, Blake and his partner Michelle, Jason and his partner Olivia, and Cheryl. She is also survived by her sister Shirley, and brothers Bill, Dennie, and Roger, great grandchildren Jaxyn, Mason, Nathan and Elijah and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Carl and Doris White, siblings Betty Ann, Douglas and Joyce, and granddaughter Nadia.

We love you so much Nancy, Grandma, Mom. We know you’re singing with Goose now, and we will never forget you.
