Moira was predeceased by her husband Doug Ormiston, her parents Gordon and Gladys Dewar, son Patrick Ormiston and her furry best friend of 13 yrs Sadie.
Moira was born on April 23, 1941 in Carmen, MB. Shortly after high school, she married Doug and moved to Flin Flon, MB in 1960, where they raised their three children and lived for 46 yrs. Retirement sparked a move to West Kelowna, B.C. in 2006, along with many winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Moira was a talented creative soul, a hippy at heart. She excelled at piano, quilting, sewing, pottery, tole painting, basket weaving and most hobbies she attempted. She always had a thirst for learning, was an avid reader and loved tinkering in the flower beds.
In the summer of 2022, mom moved from West Kelowna to a wonderful assisted living home in Nanaimo, B.C. where she met many new and special friends.
Moira passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer.
As per Moira’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will be held at a later date.
