Minnie (Mary) MACKONKA

Our family is sad to share the news that our mom, Granny, Grandma Minnie passed away at the age of 104 years.

She was born in Wpg where she lived until 2010 when she moved to BC to be closer to family. Minnie is survived by her daughter Phyllis (Glenn) son Alan Gary (Heloise) daughter-in-law Paula, 10 grandchildren Karen , Darryl, Cynthia , Todd ,Dawn-Marie, Jodi-Rae, Barbara , Danny, Raquel , Joseph. Also 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband Joseph Bartmanovich  in 1958 ,son Donald in 1974, husband Tony Mackonka in 1989, son-in-law Ray in 2016, daughter Joan in 2021, son-in-law Stan in 2025.

Mom’s family were her heart and soul and she loved sharing her wonderful meals with them. She will always be remembered as a kind ,caring, and generous person.

Rest now dear mama in the arms of angels who have surely taken you to heaven.

A funeral mass will be held at Mary Mother of the Church , 85 Kirkbridge Dr Wpg . at 11 am on July 11.

A reception and celebration of mom’s life will follow at the St.Norbert Eagles Club 3450 Pembina Hwy.
