It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Marjorie "Norine" Miller, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away on October 27, 2025 at the age of 86, with her family by her side.
Born in Parry Sound, Ontario on December 22, 1938 to the late William "John" and Marjorie Aletta Fraser. She grew up with the pleasures of a small town and often reminisced about her childhood and cross-country skiing to the one-room schoolhouse. In 1960, Norine earned her degree in nursing from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario. For many years she worked as a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse before finding her true calling as a stay-at-home mother. She dedicated her life to creating a warm, supportive and loving home for her husband and children. Her hands were rarely still; in the earlier years she created beautiful pettipoint masterpieces that were framed, either for family or friends, or to fill the walls at home. In more recent years, she could be found with knitting needles crafting sweet baby sweaters and hats to be donated to children in need.
Norine was the heart and soul of her family, known for her generous spirit and caring heart. Her love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
She is survived by her beloved children: Perrianne and husband Dominic, Iain and wife Debi; her cherished grandchildren: Jadon, Zach, Jake, Kim and Hunter; her great-grandchildren: Elle, Quinn and Oliver; her sisters Katherine, Helen and sister-in-law Ruth; her favourite companion Teddy; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Miller, her son Perry-John and her sibling Jack Fraser.
As per Norine's wishes, no service will be held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour.
