It is with love and sadness that we announce the loss of Lance Fetchko who peacefully passed away on Dec 22, 2023 from a valiant fight with brain cancer. Predeceased by his parents Joe & Pat Fetchko, sister Anne and brother Pete. Survived by his wife of 45 years Wendy, his daughters Noelle/Aaron, Sasha and Naomi/ Brian as well as grandchildren Reilly, Ruby, Brad, Luke, Melody, Logan, Allison, Jack, Bella and Leo, mother in law Pat/Ron his sisters Joycenne, Rita, and brothers Andrew, John and Eric,
Born Feb 5 1956 in Powell River, he moved with his family to the Cowichan Valley in 1964 and onto Ladysmith after marrying in 1979, to work at Western Forest Products Saltair as a sawfiler, where he made many life long friends. He retired in 2016 to spend some quality time at home with family as well as pursuing his hobbies of hunting fishing and knife/sword making.
He was a loyal devoted husband, friend, Dad & grandpa, someone you could always count on. He was always interested in the well being of his nephews and nieces. We are grateful for every moment we had with him. And although he will be greatly missed, we look forward to being reunited with him in heaven. No service at this time
