Judy McGUIRE

Judy went to heaven on July 14, 2020 at the age of 73. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, surrounded by her beautiful garden and the birds that brought her such joy and peace.  Judy will forever be loved and remembered by her husband of 52 years, Gerry and her children, Kathleen and David. Judy will be fondly remembered by her granddaughters, Kya and Hazel, her, daughter-in-law Mandy, brother Bob and sister-in-law Julia. She will also be deeply missed by the many friends whose lives she touched along the way. She was predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Tommy and her sister Ann. 

Judy was born on September 23, 1946 in Toronto, Ontario. After retiring in 2002 as a home support worker, Judy loved travelling in her motorhome with Gerry, who she always referred to as the love of her life. Judy and Gerry met when they were 13 years old and loved nothing more than being together. She walked 5 miles a day before breakfast, ran many 10K’s, 2 half marathons, and loved her card making. She was the most caring and generous person. She was a great listener and had a way of making you feel that you and your problems were the most important in the world. Her smile and love of life were infectious. 

Judy was an inspiration to so many as she gracefully kept a positive attitude and her unique sense of humor since being diagnosed in 2014 with terminal cancer. She maintained her strength and independence throughout her battle, and never veered from who she was.  

A Celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the Club House in Country Maples RV Resort, on Friday July 17th from 2:00-4:00 pm.  

Memorial donations in memory of Judy can be made to the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society in Duncan, BC.  

Judy will be missed by so many. Until we meet again, our beautiful Judy.
