It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dad, known to many as Jack, Jackie, Sir John A. and Pops.
He was born to Arthur and Margaret (Seger) McDonald in Winnipeg Manitoba.
In life he could be compared to taking on a 15 round bare knuckle fight and coming out the winner.
Life started out in Winnipeg, moving to Saskatchewan. He lost both his parents by the age of 11 and went to live with various relatives until he was sixteen and received his inheritance. From there he went to university to become a school teacher. He heads to Stanley Mission to teach and meet his first wife, Margaret Roberts and has two sons, Norman and David McDonald. Sadly they parted ways and he moved to Meadow Lake. There he met Lynn Sinclair and they merged their children and a family of five. Twelve years later came the sixth child, so in order; Norman, David, Dale, Sheila, Kelly and Shannon.
Moving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan he went back to University of Sask. And got his Agricultural Degree, then on to High Prairie where he got his Red Seal Ticket as a Journeyman Carpenter. He then moved to Vancouver Island and build numerous houses in Cowichan Valley. Then getting the itch, moved back to Alberta to get a Real Estate license and try selling homes. His love of building them won out over selling. He wore many hats. He ran for local politics in many of the areas he lived in.
He leaves behind his six children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to the staff at Sunridge Place for their care in his final days. Their compassion and kind words will not be forgotten.
Thank you to Dr. Sahadevan For making his final days comfortable and for your caring compassionate manor.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
