Jean Wobeser (Hamilton)
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Jean Wobeser of Kitscoty, Alberta at the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit after a brief illness on Friday February 13, 2026. She was 86 years of age having been born September 20, 1939 in Spalding, Saskatchewan.
Jean is predeceased by her husband Dennis Albert and her parents Herb and Shirley (Hamilton) Moffatt and sister Linda McLaughlin. She is survived by daughter Kelly (Michael) Sidoryk and their family Tess (Colin) Wack - children Bennet and Hazel, Leah Sidoryk (Liz), Carter (Maddie) Sidoryk; daughter, Wendy Wobeser and her children Julius, Lillian and Ben (Tess) Callender and Brian; son Brady (Shauna) Wobeser and their sons Dalen and Nolan. She is mourned by her sister Pat Allen, cousin Marjorie Gray and special friends Rochelle, Ryan and Aurelia. She was much loved by many nieces and nephews including Ian McLaughlin who brought much joy to her island time. Along with Leah King and her other Bowser friends, Mom leaves behind many other friends and family including her yoga and dog training families. She cherished them dearly as she did her many dogs, cats and horses.
Thank you to the outstanding staff at the Nanaimo General Regional Hospital Acute Care and Palliative Unit with a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Patterson.
She will be deeply missed by many. A prairie celebration of life is to be planned for this summer. Donations can be made in her memory to the Spark Foundation of Lloydminster, North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre or a charity of the donor’s choice.
