Jayebird , an incredibly talented and passionate drummer, passed away on December 4th at the age of 60. Her remarkable rhythmic talents and infectious enthusiasm left an indelible mark on the music world and the lives of all who knew her.
A dedicated musician, Jaye spent her life perfecting her craft and sharing her love of music with others. Her impressive skills behind the drum kit earned her numerous accolades and opportunities to perform alongside many notable musicians.
But Jaye's impact extended far beyond her impressive musical resume. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support inspired countless fellow musicians, friends, and family members.
Jaye is Pre deceased by her mother Carol, father Jim, and sister Kelli. She is survived by her daughter Alisha (Wayne). Grandchildren David, Mason, Tameesha, and Emmett. Her brothers Michael (Kelly) and Lloyd (Terri-Lynn). Her nieces and nephews, Melissa, Christopher, Casey (Philecia) and Keri. Aunties Darlene (Murray) and Brenda (Don). So many loving cousins, and an amazing community that loved her so incredibly much. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her, and her music will live on as a testament to her boundless talent and passion.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Jaye Foster memorial Scholarship Fund for a wonderful student at the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music. All donations will be made in her honour to the scholarship.
