Jacob WICKS Obituary

Jake Wicks passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 41, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on February 27, 1984, Jake lived a life defined by love, loyalty, humor, and extraordinary kindness. He was deeply loved — the kind of person who made others feel seen, heard, and valued. His humour, loving heart and compassionate spirit made him not only an incredible son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and grandchild, but the best friend anyone could ever ask for. He will be remembered for  his smile, his laughter, his loyalty, and the music that poured from his soul amongst limitless qualities that reflected the gifts he shared so freely with everyone blessed to know him.

Music was his heartbeat. He was an extremely talented drummer; Jake’s world revolved around his band, his friends, and his family. Whether on stage or simply surrounded by those he loved, he was happiest when he was creating, laughing, and sharing moments together. His passion for music and the joy he brought to others will never be forgotten.

Jake was a talented stucco plasterer by trade and worked in that industry throughout his life. Plastering was an art form to him, and many in the industry admired his talent, skill, and dedication to his craft.

He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Cheryl and Todd Wigemyr; his siblings, Jocelyn Child (mother to Ciarah and Kaden), Landen Collings and his wife Meghan Collings (parents to Ridge), and Stacey and Al Johnson (parents to Mason, Maya, and Ava); his cherished nieces and nephews, Ciarah, Kaden, Mason, Maya, Ava, and Ridge; as well as numerous extended family members, bandmates, and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Alvin Wicks, on April 1, 2015. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Dorothy and Stewart Douglas; Mary and Lavern Wicks; his uncle, Dennis Wicks; and his aunt, Lorraine Nickel.
