It is with heartbreaking sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Jack Gibb. A gentle giant, Jacque LeBear was uniquely skilled in GPS, computer skills and civil engineering. He was a problem solver who has touched hundreds through his online teaching and mapmaking. His work as a surveyor and teacher took him to Thompson Manitoba, Edmonton, Mohawk College, Hamilton and many places across the prairies.
Born into a family of nine in Bruno Saskatchewan, Jack leaves behind four siblings Pat Mortensen, Lois Regier, Doris Theriault , and Alan Gibb. He is mourned by his wife and soulmate Kathy Reid and sons Daniel Gibb (Sarah), Matthew Gibb(Erin)as well as their Mom Betsy Wright, Robyn Reid (Ryan) and Tobin Reid(Romany). Grandchildren Madison, Mason, Catcher, Claea and Sly will soon be joined by Jackson .
He fought a valiant battle against cancer. Through atving, he inspired our family to explore and love the outdoors. He will be remembered on the trails he loved so much. Some of Jack's most passionate work was on a trip to Palestine in 1989 to teach a group in Jerusalem how to map the Gaza territory.
Donations in his honour may be made to the Gaza Relief Fund.
