It is with deep sadness that the family of Hedy Hansen announce her passing on March 9, 2026. She is now pain free in the arms of Jesus.
Hedy was born February 4th, 1935 in Ladekopp, Ukraine. Predeceased by the love of her life George Hansen.
Hedy was a proud Canadian. Hedy, her brother Al and her mother, all fled their home in Ukraine, seeking refuge in Germany. Eventually making their way to Saskatchewan. Along this difficult journey, she and her family endured tremendous hardship and witnessed many of the horrors of war.
Hedy will be remembered for her love of family, friends and neighbors. She always exemplified extravagant love in all she did. Whether through her work as a nurse, her creative hobbies like quilting or the way she welcomed and hosted loved ones. She was very generous and helped many charitable organizations in every way she could.
Celebration of Life will be held on April 19, 2026 at 150 Ocean Walk Rd at the Community Clubhouse starting at 1pm
