Francis (Frank) John Granberg
June 14, 1947 – Nov 19, 2023
Frank was born June 14, 1947 to Henry and Joan in Lethbridge, Alberta.
He passed away Nov 19, 2023 at home with his wife Sharon by his side. He fought a hard battle and has now “Gone Fishing”.
After a few years of service in the Royal Canadian Navy he started working in construction, travelling to many job sites and was a proud member of IWA during his career. He worked for many years at Chemainus Mill as a millwright - fighting the idea of retirement, until illness struck him. Frank spent many hours fishing around Victoria, Port Alberni and Fraser River, sturgeon fishing as well as Tuna and Marlin in Mexico. Most winters were spent in Alberta hunting with his “bro” and best friend Barry and nephews.
He and Sharon spent many happy years vacationing in Bucerrias, Mexico. “Pancho” was popular with the locals and made many Mexican friends.
Survived by and will be forever missed by wife Sharon, children Donna, Chris (Tara), Mike (Deb), Dan (Sherry), Jamie (Di) brothers Barry (Laura), Alan (Anne) sisters Marilyn and Karen, sister in-laws Barbara and Shirley, many nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.
For everybody who ever got to really know him, he was a “presence”. I can’t think of any legacy one might want more than to have that……..and he definitely had “that”.
Always to be loved and greatly missed
As per his wishes there will be no service.
