Eva Rakoshegyi MACKINNON

Eva Rakoshegyi MacKinnon - February 1, 1942 - September 5, 2022.  Loving wife to John MacKinnon and mother to David, Rosemarie (spouse John, children Jaclyn & Austin), Vince (spouse Shannon, child Kathleen), and Steven (children Marissa, Jenna and Jasmine).  Eva immigrated to Canada from Hungary in 1957 as a very young woman with an indomitable spirit which continued through her life, accomplishing personal milestones and into her retirement as she enjoyed various travels and adventurous camping road trips with John.  She was an avid gardener who, with a devilish twinkle,  would “expropriate” pinchings from plants she admired on her walks to later add to her gardens.  Eva was proud to be one of the first female Elks members after many years as a member of the Order of the Royal Purples.  She was generous with her time, frequently organizing and volunteering for community events and charities, and thoughtfully putting her skills to use by creating gifts for family and friends.  With determination and perseverance, Eva built her life to reflect the love and joy she had to give to the people in her life.
