It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Edith Alice Notley on January 20, 2025 surrounded by friends and family after a brief illness. Edith is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ross, her three children; Matthew (Emily), Laura, and Stephen (Caitlin), and granddaughter Penelope, brother Bernie (Paula), and sisters Mary (late Ingrid), Elizabeth (Mike), Andrea (Dan), sisters-in-law Catherine (Ian), and Leslie (Ken), and large extended family.
Edith was born in Montreal and made Nanaimo her home. She was an Educational Assistant with School District 68 for 23 years. During that time she devoted herself to helping kids. Her other passions included cycling, throwing tea parties and spending time with her friends and family. Edith wouldn't want anyone to be sad, instead she would want you to dance in the kitchen, buy the shoes and live life to the fullest.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edith's honour to Special Olympics BC - Nanaimo or the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation with support given to Palliative Care.
