Earnest James Moretti
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Earnest Moretti (Jim). Jim was born in a house on 427 Prideux St. in Nanaimo that his Great Grandfather built. As a young man he loved to play baseball with his friend Flavio, who
he considered to be his very own Brother, and his Uncle and Father. Many hours of fun were spent together. Thank you to the couple that paid for Jim's season tickets to see all the Night Owl games. Jim was shocked and so appreciative of your kindness. He never missed a single game thanks to you!
During his early years Jim worked at the CIBC Data Center in Vancouver and at Canada Post Office in Nanaimo. Jim was a kind, thoughtful, funny and loyal man. Jim met and married Jean and became a loving Stepfather to her 3 Children; Michael, Wille, and Gina. After his wife passed Jim then met Dorothy and they had many years of enjoyment together traveling around the island and watching Musicians such as Paul McCartney.
One of Jim's passions was Music and he was one of the earliest Music Trivia Hosts where he started the events at The Jolly Miner in Southern Nanaimo. He traveled many areas of Vancouver Island doing Music Trivia at Weddings, Special Events and at The Eagles and the Parksville Legion. Jim met many people that way and was a real friend to all. If you recall him and his fun Trivia Events please lift a glass in his honor.
