Deanna Patricia (Roske) FORD

Deanna Patricia Ford (nee Roske) Aug 24, 1940 – August 27, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Deanna Ford.  Deanna was an amazing woman who had many adventures throughout her life.  There was always laughter and smiles when Deanna was in the room.  Deanna was born on the family farm in Saskatchewan to parents Marion (nee Johns) and Joseph Roske.  Deanna married the love of her life Edward Jerald (Jerry) Ford on Aug 31, 1957 and they had 3 sons and 64 years together.  They would live in Regina, Calgary, Kelowna, and finally they would retire to Ladysmith, BC.  

Wherever they went Deanna made lifelong friends and enjoyed activities with the Four-Wheel Stampeders in Calgary, Kelowna Curling Club in Kelowna, commercial and pleasure salmon fishing in Gibsons, Port Hardy and Campbell River areas.  She enjoyed being an aquacise instructor when they wintered in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Yuma, Arizona.  Deanna had happy memories of all these places and the people she met there.

Deanna leaves to mourn; her husband Jerry, sons Corbin (Liz) and Dean (Veronica), Daughter in law Lesley Schmidt (Wade) and her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother Joseph (Lucy) Roske and many nieces and nephews.  Deanna was predeceased by her son Todd and her grandson Adam, parents Marion and Joseph, siblings Evelyn, Jean and Jerome (Butch).

While we will miss her laughter, her cooking, her hugs, and her smile - Heaven is gaining a beautiful angel.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Oyster Harbour Lodge in Ladysmith for all the care they gave Deanna and to all the family and friends who have been here to support us.

In keeping with Deanna’s wishes, there will be no service.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that if you would like to make a donation, please make it to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or to a charity of your choice in Deanna’s name.
