Celebrating the Life of Danny Gordon Jack: A Journey Filled with Laughter.
Danny Gordon Jack, born on June 28, 1948, in Castlegar, BC, to Fay and Harvey Jack, passed away on December 7th, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 76 years old. Dan was a beloved brother to Terry and Patty and is survived by his two sons, Jesse and Dude, his dog.
Named after the song “Danny Boy,” Dan was known for his jokester spirit. He had an incredible ability to put a smile on your face and lived life with an unwavering optimism. Throughout his career, Dan embarked on a diverse journey. He initially pursued a millwright apprenticeship in Trail, BC before transitioning to a successful career as an insulation manager in Calgary, where he presided for 16 years. In the late eighties he took a sunroom management job in Ontario and stayed until the turn of the century. Shortly afterwards, he moved to Parksville, BC, where he loved being a real estate agent for over two decades, earning the Realtor’s Care Award in 2008 for his volunteer work within the community.
Dan had a deep affection for sports, volunteering for The Generals hockey team and avidly following the Calgary Flames and Stampeders. He loved building projects—from houses to Harleys—and was passionate about all his endeavors. A movie and rock music enthusiast, he volunteered at various venues in Calgary to watch all the shows. He had a curious mind and never missed an opportunity to follow world events through the newspaper.
Dan’s life was enriched by his relationships with his first wife Belva Joe, with whom he shared life in Creston, and his second wife Debbie, with whom he built a home he adored in Parksville. He also shared significant chapters with Noni and Karen, forming lasting friendships and family bonds.
Dan cherished his friendships. Thanks to all who shared in his amazing journey. His zest for life was contagious. He embodied positivity, wore many hats throughout his life, and had a mischievous charm that drew people to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A special thanks to the gracious staff at Nanaimo General Hospital. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held in the spring at his home in Parksville.
