Curtis Floyde COLBOURNE

It is with great sadness that the family of Curtis Floyde Colbourne announces his passing at his home in Chemainus, British Columbia on February 16th, 2026 at the age of 62 following a 2.5 year fight with cancer. 

Curtis was born on January 8th, 1964 in Springdale, Newfoundland and raised in Robert’s Arm. At 17 he packed up and moved west to Hinton, Alberta where he built much of his life before settling in Chemainus, British Columbia in 2017. 

He worked for many years as a supervisor at sawmills in Hinton and later Chemainus. He believed in hard work, doing things properly, and never doing things halfway. Outside of work, Curtis loved wood working and always had a project on the go. If something could be built, fixed or improved, he was already working on it. He also shared a love of travel with his wife Teresa, and together they explored new places and made lasting memories around the world.  

Curtis was known for his quick wit, sarcasm, stubborn streak, and his ability to enjoy a good time over the years, but most importantly his positive attitude towards everything. He lived fully, worked hard, and did things his own way. 

Curtis is survived by his wife, Teresa Colbourne; his daughter, Billie (Nikolas) Hanna; his sons, Jeremy (Lisa) Krolouski and Jason (Jess) Krolouski; his granddaughter, Kali Krolouski; and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Gilbert Colbourne, and his sister Rosalind. 

In keeping with Curtis’ wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers or monetary donations, those who wish to honour his memory are encouraged to donate blood through Canadian Red Cross, if they are able.
