MacRae. Craig Charles Nov. 3, 1946 – Oct. 29, 2024
Craig was born in Vancouver, BC and moved with his family to Nanaimo when he was 10 weeks old and never wanted to live any where else.
He is predeceased by his father, Donald, mother, Thelma and brother, Ian.
Survived by Susan, his wife of 47 years; sons Darren (Angie), Aaron and daughter, Jenn (Matty)
Grandchildren: Emma, Jackson, Emma-lee, Kesler, Liam, Linden, Jamie & Izzy
Craig worked for Telus (BC Tel) for many years before retiring at 55.
Craig loved all sports and was an active Curler from the age of 10, winning a Canadian Telephone Co. Championship in 1974. He also played Lacrosse, Soccer, Baseball, Slo-Pitch and Golf.
He was also a long-time member of the Serauxmen Service Club and was very involved with the construction of the Serauxmen Baseball Stadium
Curling and Golf were his passions in retirement. He coached Youth and Ladies Competitive Curllng for some years through the Nanaimo Curling Club. After many years of being active in sports he became a very avid watcher of sports, when he was no longer able to play.
A Keanu Reeves quote about dying: “I know that the ones who love us, will miss us!” Craig will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nursing staff for their kindnesses, care and support of all of us during his stay in hospital.
There will be no service as per his request
