Angus CHAN Obituary

Angus Chan, born on June 2, 1947, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully in Ladysmith on November 11 at 6:20pm. He was the beloved son of the late Tom and Marion (Drover) Chan. Later the family moved to Saskatchewan and continued moving West as years went by.

At just 17, Angus began his service in the Royal Canadian Navy, embarking on a journey marked by dedication to his country and his fellow servicemen. After his time in the Navy, Angus built a diverse and successful career. He worked with the Canada Revenue Agency, and later moved into real estate, insurance, and managing bingo halls. Angus’s entrepreneurial spirit also led him to own and operate a karaoke business, bringing joy and music to many.

On August 1, 2001, Angus married his beloved wife, Wendi, with whom he shared a life full of love, laughter and companionship. He was also a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Ginger Chan and Denise Nelson. His legacy continues through his six cherished grandchildren—Taylor Moultrie, Peyton Moultrie, Gabriella Chan, Tyler Nelson, Brandon Nelson, and Jordan Nelson—and his three great-grandsons, Kayden, Kacey, and Koa.

Angus was predeceased by his siblings, each of whom held a special place in his heart: Kenneth Chan (Elsie), Fred Chan, Tom Chan, Pat Davey (Douglas), and “Dougie” Chan. Though the last of his immediate family, Angus leaves behind a wide circle of loved ones and a legacy of kindness, service, and humour.

Angus will be remembered for his deep commitment to family, his resilient spirit, his enduring warmth and a smile on his face. His legacy lives on through the lives of those he touched, and his memory will be forever treasured. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
