Andy Hobelaid was born in Sarnia, Ontario, November 12, 1955. He died peacefully on Easter Saturday morning, April 4, 2026 at the age of 70. Andy was best known for his photography business in Sarnia, where he worked for twenty-five years doing commercial work, weddings and make-over portrait work. He was married to Cheryl Ramsey for nineteen years, parting amicably. In 2008, he moved to Abbotsford, BC, where he met and married Diane, who shared his interests in travel and adventure. Together they travelled to sixteen countries during the eleven years of their marriage, and enjoyed a good life of laughter and love. They moved to Ladysmith, on Vancouver Island in 2020 where they were well received by both old friends and new. Andy’s celebration of life will take place on May 1st, 2026, in Ladysmith, BC at Bethel Church, where Andy was part of the music ministry as a percussionist. The service will be at 12:30 p.m. with an opportunity to greet one another and share stories after. Instead of flowers, please contribute to Doctors without Borders, or the Mennonite Central Committee Mission fund in memory of Andy.
