Vic Walker
January 28,1932-September 25,2018
The family announces the passing of Vic on Tuesday morning September 25 at the age of 86. He is remembered by his wife Ginny daughter Robyn (Guy), son Robert(Laurie), grandchildren Tatla (Chris),Zaira, Annie (Cole), Zach (Kennedy), Chase, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, and great granddaughter Rene.
He is predeceased by his brother Jimmy and sister Betty. He is survived by his brothers Albert, Sandy, Willie, and sister Rose, and other extended family.
Dad was born in Duncan, raised in the Westholme area where he lived pretty much his entire life. Being the eldest child dad left school at an early age to help out on the family farm. He worked for his uncle's at the family sawmill then went on to working in the logging industry.
During this time he met our mom, Ginny and they married on August 18, 1962.
Shortly after, he left the logging industry to eventually become a full-time employee of the North Cowichan Public Works until his retirement in 1992.
We will remember Dad and the many things he loved doing, camping, haying, digging spuds up, and especially family gatherings where he loved eating lots of FOOD and talking about "the good old days", and those "Damn Dirty Devils". All who knew Dad will have a story or two to tell.
He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to give their sincere thanks to Dr. Manhas, the VIHA team, the home care workers, and all the nurses at Cowichan District Hospital for your loving care you provided to our Dad.
As per dad's wish there will be no service, just a private family gathering.
We would also like to thank Kevin from Evergreen Memorial for his assistance and kindness he offered to us during this difficult time.
