It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Emile Allarie on April 18, 2018, at the age of 81, in Nanaimo BC.
Paul was the 3rd youngest of 13 children. He was born December 14, 1936, in Westlock, Alberta to Arthur and Marie Allarie. He was raised in Jarvie, Alberta where he worked in the family store alongside his brothers. Paul met Yvonne Boutin at a Saturdaynight dance in Dapp, Alberta. They were married in April of 1960 and quickly began raising their family; Danny, Karen, Barry and Shayne. Paul spent most of his career working for the Alberta Liquor Board in various towns. With both Paul and Yvonne coming from rather large families, and having 4 children of their own, there was seldom a dull moment. Paul and Yvonne enjoyed many years of curling, dancing, card games and get togethers.
Paul was diagnosed with lung cancer during a routine chest x-ray when renewing his driver’s license when he turned 80. In April of 2017, Yvonne passed away suddenly. After some thought, Paul decided to move in with his son Danny and family in January. He was weak and tired but never complained. He settled in nicely and spent his final days in his chair, watching a lot of curling on TV. On April 17, Paul was given the news that the cancer had spread dramatically and nothing more could be done. When he lay down for a nap the next day, Paul peacefully closed his eyes for the last time.
Paul leaves to mourn his family;
Son Danny and Daughter-in-Law Suzette, of Nanaimo BC
Granddaughter Amanda Danderfer and Husband Rodney, Great Grandson Axton, of Spruce Grove Alberta
Grandson Jeremy of Nanaimo BC
Daughter Karen Friesen and Husband Jamie of Edmonton Alberta
Son Barry Of Edmonton Alberta

As well as 1 Sister Therese, 2 Brothers Arthur & Alcide, numerous nieces and nephews and many in-laws.
